Then we’ll head to this mysterious and mythical valley, crossed in the middle by its majestic river : the Loire.
We suggest you enjoy this tour over 5 days / 4 nights : 3 days in Paris and 2 days in the Loire Valley.
In Paris, we have selected charming, luxury hotels and B&Bs, all very well located.
In the Loire Valley, you will sleep in a private castle if you wish and take the helicopter directly in the park for a magic flight over the Loire castles.
Day 1 : Paris from posh avenues to secret lanes
Strarting from the Trocadero square, we reach the Palais de Tokyo, an example of the 1930s architecture then the Arc de Triomphe, place de l’Etoile, from which we discover the perspective of the Champs Elysees avenue.
Going past the Opera house with its “perspective” of the Palais royal, we reach the Place des Victoires peeping into lanes and secret passages.
From the Palais Royal gardens, we get to the Louvre museum with its glass pyramid looking onto the Tuileries gardens, which lead us to the Place de la Concorde the end of our day-tour.
Day 2 : Paris, from the hystorical Marais area to the Paris sky
A walk through the historical Marais and the modern Beaubourg areas, will take you the heart of Paris, the Ile de la Cité, where stands Notre-Dame cathedral.
Then walking along the left bank of the river Seine, we’ll reach the Quartier Latin and Luxembourg gardens.
Finally, on leaving the intellectuals’ district of St Germain des Prés, we’ll go up to the top of Montparnasse tower to appreciate one of the most beautiful views of Paris.
Day 3 : Paris in the morning , the Loire Valley in the evening
Montmartre hill will be our first visit: the Sacré-Cœur basilica, its mews, its vineyard then heading down for the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret in Pigalle.
After lunch, you will have some free time for shopping on the Grands boulevards at Galeries Lafayette or Printemps department stores.
We’ll then catch the TGV high-speed train towards the Loire Valley.
Day 4 : the Loire Valley : majesty of the castles and rural simplicity
Our first visit will be Chambord, the most famous of the château of Loire, a “reverie in stone” the symbol of the French Renaissance.
Then we’ll head on to Blois, its royal castle and its ancient district.
In the evening, depending on the weather, you will choose between a magical helicopter flight over the region or a trip on the traditional boat of the Loire.
Day 5 : vineyards and gardens
After the visit of the magnicient castle of Chenonceau, spanning over the Cher river, in a romantic surrounding,
you will discover a well-known wine making estate in Montlouis,
followed by the visit of the gardens of the Valmer castle, nested in the little Brenne valley.
Return to Paris in the evening.
